Joe had a big hit in the early '60's with "I'm a Fool to Care". This is the first new release for Tuff City which specializes in New Orleans R & B. The album is set for release in 2003! * BESR is currently in the studio working on an album. Scheduled release has been delayed. However, a CD single is available now! From this beginning the legendary band from South Louisiana has left it's mark on not just it's fans, but the R & B Legends and future Rock and Roll Hall of Famers' who have chosen the band to back them up in concert. The names of the R & B greats who have chosen the Blue Eyed Soul Revue "my band" reads like a Top 10 radio play list from the era: Percy Sledge ("When a Man Loves a Woman") Jessie Hill ("Ooh Poopa Doo") Sam Moore ("Soul Man") The Platters ("Smoke Gets In Your Eyes") Frankie Ford ("Sea Cruise") Tommy Ridgley (THE New Orleans mainstay) Jimmy Clanton ("Venus in Blue Jeans") King Floyd ("Groove Me") Oliver Morgan ("Who Shot the LaLa") Dixie Cups ("Going to the Chapel") Roy Head ("Treat Her Right") Tommy McClain ("Sweet Dreams") The groups for which The Blue Eyed Soul Revue has opened concerts is just as impressive: Blood Sweat and Tears Fats Domino Bobby Blue Bland Chubby Checker Louise Mandrell In the spring of 1988 an album featuring Ernie K-Doe and the Blue Eyed Soul Revue was released on the Syla Record label. This album was produced by Milton Batiste of the world famous Olympia Brass Band. The album entitled "Burn K-Dor Burn" includes powerful remakes of K-Doe's biggest hits like "Mother In Law", "'Taint it the Truth", "A Certain Girl", and others. The album also includes original songs by the Blue Eyed Soul Revue. This album received much critical acclaim for the "power" that comes off the tracks- directly attributable to BESR. There is only one event in New Orleans that is close to eclipsing the notoriety of Mardi Gras- and that event is the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. The Blue Eyed Soul Revue has performed at "Jazz Fest" since 1987! BESR was the "band of choice" at Jazz Fest for Percy Sledge, Jean Knight, Ernie K-Doe, King Floyd, and Eddie Bo! Playing on all of the major stages, hundreds of thousands of fans have grooved to the Rhythm and Blues Funk that only the Blue Eyed Soul Revue can deliver. The term "Blue eyed soul" was coined in the 60's to describe white performers who not only played black music, but played it "right". The appropriately named Blue Eyed Soul Revue will take you on a journey back to the day when R & B was fun, cool, funky, and the best dance music ever! Don't let yourself miss this powerhouse of "Sweet Soul Music". Check out a photo history of the band! Click here:
